Chloe Up Close
This is an Alaia!!!!!!!
Azzedine Alaia told WWD yesterday that
"Anna (Wintour) has snubbed my work for fifteen years. She behaves like a dictator and everyone is terrified of her... but I’m not scared of her or anyone.”
As for all the gowns he designed, he made sure weren't worn to the 2009 Gala: he is planning on loaning them out for editorials.
I love him so much. After all, he is "a totally important designer." This is good ol' Cher in Clueless. She had the right appreciation for Alaia, even at gun point.

Richard Avedon
Richard Avedon is having an exhibition, “Avedon Fashion 1944-2000,” opening May 15 at the International Center of Photography, presents this disowned work as a seminal body of fashion photography. This exhibition will be the most comprehensive exploration to date of Avedon's photography. Work from his time at Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and The New Yorker is only some of what is going to be featured.
Jack McCollough: The Saga Continues
Poor Jack.... This is his nose right after he had to get surgery. Insane!! Brooke Sheilds has spoken out only to her friends saying that Jack "josled" her. But it was nothing intentional and the only reason she may have almost fallen from it is because of her six inch heels. Lawyers are involved so everyone is pretty hush hush about the whole situation.

Galliano
Christian Dior ready-to-wear isn't really my style...at all... but I can't deny that I am not completely fascinated by John Galliano. I'm even intrigued by his voice. How can you not be curious about someone whose always dressed so theatrical?! The first picture is from this years Met. He's with Marion Cotillard who I will admire forever and ever for her role as Edit Piaf.
Theyskens revised and revisited
"The parties tonight are great, but they don't compare to three days ago, when I sat by the Seine on my own and smoked cigarillos. It's my favorite thing in the world. I smoke this brand La Paz—they're cheap but it's what I always buy. And then, I peed into the Seine. It's the best thing I did all week."-Olivier Theyskens at SubMercer after party for the Met 2009
Ummmmm thats pretty graphic considering I imagined Theyskens to be the most delicate man in fashion. Anyway, Anna Wintour is making a huge effort to make him the new creative director of Halston. If he did take on the role, he would have to move to New York but nothing has be finalized just yet.

Café
In France all the restaurants and cafes will drop their prices starting July 1, 2009. This is because the VAT (Value Added Tax) is dropping from 19,6 % to 5,5%. Good ol' President Sarkozy passed this April 28, 2009. This will cost the French government 2.5 billion euros. On the plus side, 40,000 people will get jobs. Whatever, after a couple months prices will go back to normal if you want the brutal truth.
If you want good suggestions for cafe's while in Paris I highly suggest Cafe De Flore. Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, the existentialists Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Alber Camus often wrote, had coffee or drinks at Cafe De Flore. It is at the corner of the Boulevard Saint-Germain and the Rue St. Benoit.

Another great spot is Cafe Marly. I once ate there once in the afternoon on my birthday and John Galliano sat at the table right next to me for hours during Paris fashion week.

Ouch
This is Jack McCollough's nose after Kiefer Sutherland knocked him out at a party after the 2009 Met.
“Anyone who knows Jack McCollough knows that he would not hurt a fly. All we can say at this point is that he was the victim of a vicious, violent, unprovoked assault and that the matter is in the hands of the authorities."

MET FAVORITES:
Leighton Meester looked adorable! She pulled off this amazing Louis Vuitton outfit from her curls, to her blush, leggings all the way down to the bows on her shoes. LOVE! And LOVE that Tom Ford in the background!
Ashley Olsen wore The Row
Bosworth in Stella McCartney. Flawless!
Everyone else was either good or sucked but in the end I only remember these three blowing me away.
