Finders Keepers

Today, while on a mini family vaca, I went shopping in Napa Valley, CA to some really charming thrift shops where I came across this $25.00 very real Prada tote nylon yellow bag with a teddy bear on it playing baseball (picture below is the exact bag but in orange). So after much thought of if I actually needed this brand new bright yellow bag with a detachable long strap?? I decided to just get it. What the hell, it came with the certificate of authenticity and everything! I came home later that night to find it NOT available online due to its super exclusivity and at a charming price of $930.00.

Found this article in Nylong Magazine. Still prettaay in shock by this find.

Side note: My mom purchased a Lalique candle holder at the same shop (which she already has the full four piece collection of) for $90.00 and we found it on the Lalique site available for $975.00. Yes, we are super duper.

Coco & Igor

I just saw the newest Coco Chanel film. Coco & Igor.  In the beginning I was very turned off and was so disappointed by the selection of the actress portraying Chanel. She looked nothing like Chanel and her body language was totally off.  Everything about her bothered me until she spoke. Her voice was totally on point. Once the movie got into the second half,  I was very much intrigued by the plot, the breathless scenery, art direction, and costume. Over all, when the movie was over, I loved it. It was a great story. I wish the actress wasn't so dainty and wasn't acting like she was walking on the catwalk. Rather portraying the tomboyish physicality Coco is so infamous for. Oh well. In conclusion, see the movie if you love Chanel. My critic will only be noticed by a true fashion connoisseur.

Gaultier is Leaving Hermes!

Wow such sad news. For me anyway, I love Gaultier's work for Hermes. Now it has been confirmed that spring/summer 2011 (presented this October 2010) will be his last collection.  He has only received great appreciation for his work and contribution to the mega fashion house these past seven years, and will continue to have Hermes be a forty five percent share holder in his own personal line. Who will be next to replace the genius? Christophe Lemaire, Creative directior of Lacoste.

Warhol

This Andy Warhol self-portrait was owned by Tom Ford until he sold for $32.6 million at Sotheby's on Wednesday May, 13, 2010.  Way more than its estimated worth. Talks of him needing backing of $50 million to start his own women's wear line.. guess we'll have to wait and see.

Remember Me

All this talk about Lagerfeld's new short film, Remember Me. Finally the full seventeen minute clip which he has written and directed has been released. Honestly, the last thing I expected was to be as intrigued and stimulated as I was while watching it. I believe that only fashion obsessed people, will catch on to the many charming twists. It is truly adorable.

GIVE IT TO ME!!!!!

I love this video. Any video with a Goyard backdrop that comes out of no where and Mr. Williams pushing around a huge purple Hermes bag is absolutely worthy of watching and leaping out the window from joy.

Tanner Hall

Tanner Hall is a film written and directed by Tatiana Von Furstenberg and her best friend Francesca Gregorini. The flick features uniforms for four prep school gals designed by Diane Von Furstenberg. It is released in the States late Summer. Based on the two links below it looks
very raw and well written.
